I’ve been using dbrand skins on my phones for some time now. But with the current situation getting them delivered from the US looks not very possible also considering shipping time. What if I tell you we have our own Indian skins and case manufacturer? Riggear sent me these skins to check out. So, let’s do just that.
Riggear is a Bangalore based skins and cases company who have a plethora of options to choose from. The skins are made by 3M which is the same as what dbrand uses.
I have here the blue hive and black camo skins. They come pre applied to the cases so you don’t have to fiddle with getting them on right.
Looks quite cool, it’s been applied well, and being a case you don’t have to worry about having to remove the skin off the phone. Want a new look, get a new case.
I have one for the OnePlus 7t too, which is my wife’s phone, got her pink, not sure if she will be happy with that.
Just wanted to get in a colour option too.

These skins are textured, just look at the design popping of the case. Quality is great as these are the same 3M skins that most skin manufacturers use.
Here’s camo, another favourite. The case makes it easy to change, you could have one of each colour to match your clothes.
The pink skin I have chosen has a sandstone texture, and it does have that rough feeling. Similar to how the first OnePlus did. Makes the phone grippy too.
Customizing your case is quite simple using their website. Select your phone model first, these are the models skins are available for. Check if your phone is supported before ordering.
Select skin only or case and select a phone model, once selected we get the appropriate options.
If you select skin only, we have options for back skin and the camera cut-out. The camera cut-out can be customized separately to a different colour, so you can mix and match.
When selecting a case, we have options for case skin and camera cut-out skin. The case is auto selected at a price of Rs 300.
Skin options are Camo, carbon fiber, dragon, hive, leather , matrix, sandstone, stone and wood.
We have a wide range and also the camera skin can be customised separately or we can opt out if we want the original colour around it.
The skins are pre applied, which removes the hassle of applying it ourselves.
But If you do not like a case you can always go with the skin only option.
The case is well made, not the highest quality, but not bad either.
The camera bump is a bit lower, as you can see this lip , keeps the cameras safe.
Grippiness is good too. Riggear is soon to release a newer set of premium cases, not sure when but they’re coming.
Having used Spigen for years now, and looking at the abuse this case has endured, I hope this case from Riggear protects my phone well.
It’s great to see skin vendors in India, being available locally brings down the overall price and shipping times for the product. Being 3M skins, the quality is the same as with any other vendor. I liked the skins and would totally recommend them for your phone customization. If you don’t like the case, you can always go for the skin only option.
