This is the Npet pet water fountain, they’ve shown a cat on the box, but it works for dogs too. The fountain can disperse 1.5 liters of water at full capacity.
Some more features are listed on the side here, and we have the specifications on the back.
Opening it up we have the manual first, the rest of the items are within this protective plastic.
Here’s the water fountain itself.
There are more items within. Here’s a USB-a cable which is used for power. This connects to the mini submersible motor.
Now to open the top, I found the best way to do so is to hold your hands around the base and pull the top off with your index fingers and thumbs. The top comes off quite easily.
The top cover is the bowl where the water collects and it has a filter section and a pipe that would connect to the motor below.
Also included are brushes, a thick one and a thin one. A cleaning sponge.
This is the actual filter , its a charcoal and ion exchange resin filter. We are provided an extra one in the box.
These are the spouts.
This is the mini submersible motor,
Now to assemble the fountain, the filter tray un-clips easily , insert the filter into the filter tray.
Snap it back on. The water flows through this filter removing any solids and also removes odor using the carbon filter. You are supposed to immerse the filter in clean water for 10 minutes before installing.
The base of the fountain has this marking, install the motor here. Here are the suction cups on the motor, align it with the marking and install.
There ,done.
Now thread the wire through the provided space on the bottom.
Align the top spout with the motor below, and close the cover.
Add a spout, I’m using the long one first. We have a short one available too.
All the water would fill into this bowl and overflow into the filter. It has a 200 ml capacity, and is angled for easy access by the pets.
Now let’s fill in some water, we have markings on the side, from in to max, make sure the water is always above the min marking.
Place the cover back on and, plug in the usb cable, no adapter is provided, so you do need to use your own usb power adapter. If you have an older usb-a phone charger it will work too.
An adapter could have been included, which is a bit of a let down.
Once powered on, the water starts flowing and the bowl starts to fill.
The water that overflows goes through this filter and flows back into the lower tank, and this recirculation cleans up the water.
Here’s the motor, always make sure the water level is above the motor inlet. Looks really cool
Here’s the filter in close up, and the filtered water flows down here.
Nice flowing sound, but if you don’t like the sound of flowing water , you could always use the smaller spout or use no spout at all.
Now to test if pet’s would even drink water off this fountain. Find a nice stable location to place the fountain, and power it on.
These are my friends’ pets and both of them seem to have no problems drinking from this fountain.
So what do I think of the npet water fountain, we’ll it’s a great product for the price, and you can be sure that your pet gets enough water during the day. The build is fine, it’s plastic, it’s easy to setup and fill. my only qualm is that if 1.5 litres is enough?
Sound wise, it’s not that loud, it’s pretty quiet and some might even like the flowing stream kind of sound it makes. If you use the long spout, ohh ho ho, it’s a bit louder. So the amount of sound it makes is as per the spout selected.
I don’t have any pets and I had to borrow my friends to shoot this video, a big thanks to him.
So what do you guys think, would you pick one up for your pets? Or if you have another model comment the brand and why you like it below.
