Nitho Drive Pro Stand 3

We generally game in the living room upstairs, I have my VR setup there and also this, the Nitho drive pro 16. My kids and I love racing games, and this has been really fun to play with.

But it’s not installed well, being in the living room. Wanting the space for VR there are no tables there.

Mounting a steering wheel is not always easy as some tables might be too thick or not have enough space below to be able to mount, using the provided c-clamps.

This is the Nitho drive pro stand 3, and as the name says it all, is a stand to safely and stably mount your steering wheel and pedals.

Let’s unbox, set it up and check it out.

The first box I have is the accessories,

which includes the manual, pictorial, looks nice.

Next, we have a set of bolts, washers, screws and also the required hex keys.

A customer care booklet with details to contact Nitho in case you are having problems setting the stand up.

Here is a pedal plate mount.

This is the vertical mounting tube which would be the central column where everything connects. These are all made of stainless steel and have a good weight to them too. Nice matte black finish.

Here’s the pedal plate, it supports pedals from other brands too, such as Logitech, thrustmaster etc.

And lastly the Steering wheel plate, which would hold the steering wheel.

Let’s put it together.

This horizontal tube slides through the opening found on the vertical column.

Make sure the holes don’t cross the opening.

Pull this metal lock down to lock the tube in place.

The 25mm M10 bolt holds the bar in place from the other side.

We have two m8 rubber feet provided, install one in front and the other at the back of the tube.

Now for the pedal plate mount, match the holes on the horizontal bar, we have a choice of position, on how far you want the pedal plate to be. Use the two provided M8 bolts to secure it down.

Add the 40 mm M10 bolts to the plate which would help with customizing the inclination of the pedal plate.

Mount the pedal plate making sure it slides into the hinge and using M5 bolts and the washers provided secure it down.

The plate can move up and down and using the M10 bolts you can change the inclination of the pedal plate.

Last is the steering wheel plate, slide it into the slot above, it will go only in one way. Using the M8 bolts screw them in to hold the plate in place.

The plate can move up and down to be set to your choice height, the bolts are used to lock it in place.

Place the steering wheel on the wheel plate,

and the pedals on the pedal plate.

While playing there is no wobbling and the pedals are not moving around from under your feet. This makes playing so much fun as you concentrate on the game more.

The vibration feedback from the wheel doesn’t seem to generate any unwanted noise, which is great.

The stand has a solid build and is a balance between weight and portability.

It’s quite durable and it looks like it will last.

My thoughts, oh this stand has made racing games so much fun again. Gaming in the living room there is no table in the centre as I wanted most of the space free for VR gaming. So using this steering wheel was a bit troublesome.

The small table I had on my lap was heavy and uncomfortable,

and the pedals kept sliding around with every push.

Now the steering stays put, it’s at the correct angle and the pedals also stay in place.

Compatibility with other brand steering wheels such as the Logitech and thrust master series adds to its fantastic value.

It’s easy to put together and take apart taking only a few minutes. It can be moved aside as one piece when you’re not gaming.

Some niggles while installing the stand together

The pedal plate is a bit annoying to install, especially screwing it into the hinge, it’s not very accessible.

If you open the screws under the steering wheel plate and the plate moves down, and you tighten it,  it could just about hinder while unscrewing, especially the top bolt as it would hit the plate above. I managed to get it loose, but this is just something to keep in mind.

Those were my small niggles, other than that the Drive Pro Stand 3 is not heavy on your wallet and is surprisingly quite well built for the price.
