I have with me the Hakii Wind smart sunglasses, I also have the Hakii wind dedicated replacement lenses which I will get to later.
Nicely designed box, I like the accented purple sections. Hakii sport smart outfit explore, is this another branding for the same glasses. It has Hakii wind on the other side, and it has a good number of features, especially being that it works like a Bluetooth headset.
They look like they’re another division of Havit, who are also into audio hardware.
Opening it up, that’s their tagline?
We are greeted within, with nicely organised items each within their designated space.
The purple colour on the box also looks really nice.
Hakii sport smart outfit explore, this is the quick start guide, so make sure to take a good look through it.
Ah, here’s the case, the glasses are within.
Looks like regular sporty sunglasses, and it has standard tinted lenses.
Let’s see what else we get in the box, this is a proprietary charging cable.
Microfibre cloth, very important for sunglasses.
Nothing else.
Now for the glasses, nice case, it has soft touch material inside which would protect the lenses and the case lid is held down magnetically.
These are UV400 polarised lenses, the sunglasses are very light. They weigh only 40 grams, which is equivalent to standard sunglasses. We have this ridge design on the top of the frame.
The temples or side arms have the Hakii branding and the hashtag livemysound.
The speakers are also integrated within.
There you go, there is one speaker pointing to the back, and one is bottom firing. The same is mirrored on the other side.
We have a wide nose pad in front.
The right arm has the charging port and the charger attaches magnetically, just match it up and the charger locks in.
It works only one way, and repels the opposite direction, so you cannot attach it the wrong way.
There are buttons on the same arm, M and V. These are how the speakers look on both sides. They have a specially designed acoustic mesh which keeps out dust and water. The sunglasses are IPX4 waterproof, which means it can resist sweat and rain during your biking or jogging sessions.
Hold m button down for a few seconds to turn the glasses on.
We hear an audible power on message and we have the light here blink between blue and red indicating that it’s in pairing mode.
Find the name Hakii wind in your bluetooth list and tap on it. Once paired the light stops blinking and it’s ready to use.
Hakii wind integrates the QCC3025 5.0+EDR chipset which not only provides stable connection to your phone, but also provides noise cancelling for phone calls, allowing you to make clear phone calls during biking or jogging.
The speaker is designed in such a way to allow for ambient noise to come through. This is important when you’re on the road biking, walking, or jogging, you should be able to listen to your surroundings.
The sound is fine, you’re not going to get ground-breaking quality as they are a bit away from your ears. But they are fine, you can hear your music and also keep an ear out to the environment, which is what these sunglasses have been designed for.
The noise cancellation during calls is also a plus, and the other party can hear you quite clearly.
Audio playback is around 3-3.5 hours, and it has a standby time of 200 hours. It takes 1.5 hours to charge up its 3.7 V 130 mAh battery. If you’re having problems charging your glasses, make sure to clean the charging ports.
Controls are simple too, the m button is your main action button, tap on the button to play pause songs, take calls. Tap on v button if you want to cut the call.
The v button is for volume, tap on it directly and the volume increases, tap and hold and the volume now decreases.
Hold down both M and V buttons together to turn the glasses off.
We also have another box which contains additional lenses. One transparent which helps brighten and enhance visibility. And the trail purple lenses are to be used in cloudy or foggy environments.
These are in addition to the medium light lenses which are good for noon and days with strong sunlight.
It’s quite easy to switch between the lenses, just pull out and push in the new one.
Just make sure to align the lens to the groove when installing a new one.
There you go, it looks pretty cool.
So what are my thoughts on the Hakii wind, it’s a great pair of Bluetooth sunglasses, the ability to hear your music, take calls and also be aware of your environment is a plus. It’s not very clear, but it fits on like standard sunglasses and nothing is stuffed into your ear, making it more comfortable. The people around you will be able to hear what you’re listening to, so it’s not totally isolated.
The glasses are light, the lenses work as advertised and the audio playback is a plus. A little more quality or maybe bone conduction in version two might be a plus, but this is not a bad product in any way. Availability is via the Hakii website, and the price is around 40-100 US dollars which is what you might pay for a decent pair of sunglasses, and having music play off it is a plus. I didn’t buy it but, I did have to pay customs duty when it was delivered. So, keep that in mind at least for India.
