Case Logic SLRC-206 : A Quick Review

For DSLR camera bags, Case Logic is generally not the first name that comes to mind. But when I saw one online, I really loved it. So, let’s find out what I really liked about it.

I wanted a camera bag that was great ergonomically and had enough space for all the stuff that go with DSLR’s, such as batteries, SD-cards, charger etc., oh and I also wanted it to be able to hold a laptop.

So the SLRC-206 is the one that caught my fancy, due to its sleek and stealthy design, and really bright orange accents. The bag is not overly flashy, but the bright orange does go well with all the black equipment within.

The main feature of this bag is the SLR suspension system, which is basically a strap of with Velcro on two ends, that suspends a camera with a lens included, for easy storage and access. it would also protect the camera if you accidentally dropped the bag.

There are two straps that stop the zippers from opening beyond a certain point, which is enough if you just want to access the camera. If you need access to the rest of the equipment just unstrap and unzip, and the whole flap opens revealing the main compartment

There’s ample room in the main compartment and the best part is, the dividers are adjustable. just pull them out and place them how you want them. There are also two more zipped compartments available to hold memory cards, and cables. There are a lot of pockets available, so mostly would keep everyone happy.

The place is adequate for me, as I carry only a Tamron 70-300mm, a Nikon 24-120 mm lens and a 50mm lens. Another section is occupied by my gear 360.

The other main feature is that it can also hold a laptop, but I noticed a 15.3-inch laptop is quite a squeeze to get in there. Getting the zips around the contours of the laptop is a slight pain. But I had no problems with my Microsoft Surface, as it’s only 12 inches. It is padded, so you can be assured that your laptop will stay safe.

The backpack has straps on the side to allow carrying a tripod.

On the left is a small flat compartment, which looks to be designed more to hold small HDD’s or SD-cards.

The front of the bag also has a compartment, I use to store the battery charger and an extra battery. It also has pockets to hold pen’s and visiting cards.

The back of the bag has very comfortable straps, it feels like memory foam and don’t feel

The bottom of the bag is rubberized and very sturdy, this protects the bag from water and allows to place it upright.

I’ve been using the bag for more than 4 years now, and it’s still going strong. There has been not much wear and tear, and I feel is a great camera bag for the price. If you need to carry around expensive equipment and multiple lenses and a laptop, this bag won’t disappoint.
